Beth Nicholson

Beth Nicholson has worked as a technical editor for over 20 years with companies in the financial and human resources sectors of the software industry. She has extensive experience with all levels of editing and with restructuring complex materials, working on multiple projects concurrently to meet deadlines. She has also provided editing services in various other areas, such as tax compliance, year-end payroll and tax processing, and modem battery installations for domestic and international use.

Beth has been the sole editor as well as worked with other editors, always effectively maintaining consistency in tone and style of writing. Beth has produced and maintained extensive standards for teams of technical writers and other positions that have been assigned the role of technical writer. Beth is a consensus builder. She has strong interpersonal skills and is an asset to large and small teams of technical writers and other roles, such as business analysts and software developers.

Another skill that Beth possesses is insightful user interface analysis and feedback. She is a user advocate with training in and practical application of user interface design techniques. Beth has led and participated in usability studies and interface reviews, which have resulted in product changes for the benefit of the users. She has also written instructions for users and designed labels that appear in the user interface.

Beth is a winner of multiple awards in Society for Technical Communication (STC) competitions and holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration. She also has extensive continuing education and training in information design and usability analysis.
